 What is LEAD?

CharlotteRising is kicking off LEAD this year in September 2024. LEAD was launched by CanDo! in 2014 and will continue to train local leaders this year with CharlotteRising at the helm.

LEAD is a leadership training program designed for residents or employees of Charlotte and Eaton County who are interested in developing or strengthening their leadership skills.  LEAD 2024 is kicking off in September with a brand-new schedule, meeting for eight weekly half-day modules, Thursdays beginning September 12. 

All sessions will be held in the Community Room, in the basement of Charlotte City Hall.   Modules run from 7:45 -11:45 AM with continental breakfast and snacks (lunch not included except for the last session)

The cost per attendee is $325 for the entire 2024 LEAD program.

  • Communicate to Connect (Sep 19) - Leslie Charles, Professional Speaker, and Author

  • Leadership Spirit and Style (Sep 26) - Mike Oyster, University of Olivet

  • Leading with Impact: The Power of Generosity (Oct 3) - Kalli Dempsey, Co-Executive Director, Eaton Community Health

  • Leadership Solutions and Innovation (Oct 10) - Gregg Guetschow, Gregg Guidance, LLC

  • Money Matters for Leaders and Board Basics (Oct 17) TBD

  • Character and Culture in the Workplace (Oct 24) - Bryan Myrkle, Village Manager of the Village of Paw Paw

  • Developing Strengths—Yours and Others (Oct 31) - Adrian Bass & Mike Oyster

To register for LEAD, please fill in the registration form for each individual attendee. Your registration is not completed until you have paid. Payment can be made with a credit card at the CharlotteRising Store or by check sent to: CharlotteRising, 100 W. Lawrence Ave, Ste A, Charlotte, MI. Please include the name of the participant(s) and organization with your check.
