Thirsty Bird Renos

New Look for the Thirsty Bird

When restaurants were forced to close indoor dining in November 2020 one small, local restaurant traded in their spatulas for screwdrivers and got to work. The Thirsty Bird Bar and Kitchen, owned and operated by Martin and Amy Ramos, has just unveiled a interior renovation project three months in the making.

One online commenter stated “is this even Charlotte??” when seeing the interior renovations. Amy and Martin removed the drop ceiling to reveal a beautifully patterned tin ceiling, which they painted to help preserve in their signature orange color. They also exposed the brick walls, which are in excellent condition and make the restaurant feel warm and inviting. The interior decor has been updated too with new lighting, framed jerseys, and a mid-century orioles mural.

Martin and Amy are a shining example of the entrepreneurial spirit in Charlotte. Their hard work and devotion to downtown and their business, even during difficult times, inspires other local entrepreneurs to set up shop.

We encourage you to stop in and see the renovations, as they are very impressive. Please enjoy indoor dining and we can’t wait to see you downtown.
